Managing Partner
David G. Young, CPA brings more than 35 years of experience advising business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals across accounting, taxation, financial services, and business consulting. After going out on his own in 1997, David formally founded Young & Company CPAs, LLP in 1999—building the firm into a well-established CPA firm in the Rochester region and a recognized veteran-owned business.
David is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York State and holds Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses, along with life, health, and disability insurance licenses. His broad professional credentials enable him to deliver integrated, forward-looking guidance aligned with each client’s long-term objectives, addressing both complexity and opportunity with clarity and precision.
An active member of the New York State Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA), David has served the organization extensively for many years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rochester Chapter and as a Director-at-Large on the statewide NYCPA Board, contributing to leadership, professional standards, and the future of the profession across New York State.
David is also a recognized voice in financial education and media. He has represented the NYCPA extensively, appearing regularly on WROC-TV to promote financial literacy and informed decision-making. His television appearances have been incorporated into statewide NYCPA media training and continue to resonate with viewers. In addition, David has been quoted in Money magazine and CCH publications.
In service to his country, David retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army Reserve in September 2012 after more than 27 years of distinguished service. A decorated combat veteran, he completed two post-9/11 deployments and is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge. This experience that continues to shape his disciplined, principled approach to leadership and advisory work.
Beyond his professional and military career, David serves as Executive Director of Heart of God Haiti, which works to help Haitian families achieve financial self-sufficiency.
David resides in Upstate New York with his wife, Julie, and their Wonder Dog, CoCo.
